Different uses and Benefits of PEEK Plastic, PEEK GF30, and Ultem 2300

The benefits of PEEK Plastic, Ultem 2300 and PEEK GF30 are very similar. This is because all three materials feature many of the same unique properties. In fact, all three materials are categorized as glass-reinforced plastics (GRP). They differ widely, however, in their methods of production and applications.

PEEK, Ultem 2300, and PEEK GF30 is engineering plastics that have strong, unique properties. Each of these options has different technical properties, making them more or less appropriate for different applications.

PEEK plastic

The most common PEEK product is PEEK plastic, which is used in the automotive, aerospace, instrumentation, and medical industries. PEEK (PolyEtherEtherKetone) is a registered name for a group of high-performance polymers with unique properties such as high mechanical strength, high thermal and chemical resistance, low water absorption, and outstanding dimensional stability.

PEEK is a strong thermoplastic, used in demanding applications (aerospace, electronics, automotive and medical), it is totally inert, has high-temperature resistance and good chemical resistance. PEEK plastic improves with age without creep or stress relaxation, even at temperatures up to 400°C. It has very good thermal shock resistance and oxidation resistance. It also has excellent electrical properties and can be machined using conventional techniques.

PEEK is a high temperature-resistant, impact-resistant, and chemically stable polymer with a density of 1.35 g/cm3.

Toughest among all engineering plastics, PEEK plastic plate is used extensively in jet engines, missiles, nuclear reactors, and medical equipment that require high performance under very high temperatures. It has the highest thermal stability of common engineering thermoplastics and can operate at continuous use temperatures up to 275°C without degradation.

Ultem 2300 material

It has incredible strength and durability, even at very high temperatures, making it an excellent choice for use in all sorts of projects such as medical equipment, automobile parts, food processing equipment, and other situations where industrial and commercial equipment is used.

Tensile strength is the measure of the force required to pull apart two materials opposite one another. This can be a dangerous measurement if not taken properly into consideration with the production of your plastic parts. The higher the tensile strength, the greater the resistance to breakage during high-stress situations. Ultem 2300 plastic rod has a tensile strength that ranges from 6,000 to 10,000 psi or pounds per square inch. This means that Ultem 2300 is able to withstand an enormous amount of force before it will break apart. Ultem 2300’s tensile strength makes it an excellent material for creating plastic parts that are used in high-stress environments such as in-car engines and motors or on large machinery in feedlots or food processing plants.

PEEK GF30 plastic

PEEK-GF30: This type of PEEK plastic has a lower melting point than most types of PEEK, allowing it to be processed at higher temperatures. It has the same flexibility as other forms of PEEK. This type of plastic is often used to create dielectric and mechanical parts that require strength and durability.

PEEK GF30 is one variety of PEEK plastics that has some special characteristics that make it ideal for specific applications. Common applications of this polymer include bearings, gears, and mechanical parts, especially those made out of metal. Because they have a lower coefficient of friction than other common materials like metal or rubber, they are useful in situations were sliding against each other needs to be controlled such as with ball bearings or mechanical joints.

To create a PEEK GF30 plastic rod, the polymer is extruded into long strands. Then it’s heated at a temperature of 2,750 degrees Fahrenheit (1,500 degrees Celsius) to fuse the chain molecules together through an oxidative process called chain scission. The product has an average tensile strength of 30 megapascals (MPa), as well as an average elongation of 500 percent at the break.
